While not a student of Hegel's, Karl Rosenkranz (1805 – 1879) was Hegel's biographer and a philosopher in his own right.

—Karl Rosenkranz, Hegel as the National Philosopher of Germany (translated by G.S. Hall) p. 128, 1874[In the second part of his Encyclopedia,] Hegel attempts to apply dialectics to the scientific treatment of nature.
