Hegel & Hawking

I haven't read this recent book from Cambridge, but it's definitely on my list to take a look at: The Truly Infinite Universe: Hegel, Hawking, and the Quantum Cosmo-logic of the Absolute by David James Stewart (2019) From the publisher: The discoveries of general relativity and quantum mechanics in ...

Philosophical Magazine

Have you heard of Philosophical Magazine ? If not, my guess is it's not what you might be expecting from the title. As it says on the cover, it's been around since 1798—so it was during that time when there was a kind of cross-over between what we think of as "science" & "philosop...

Lenin on Marx & Hegel

I don't know if this is true, but I read that Lenin said that to understand just the first chapter of Marx's Capital, one needed to know all of Hegel's Logic.
If anyone knows if and where Lenin said this, please reply below.

Re: On the (so-called) Analytical/Continental Divide

Mao Tse-Tung’s Theory of Dialectic

Mao Tse-Tung’s Theory of Dialectic by Francis Y. K. Soo (1981) This book (#44 in the Sovietica series) looks interesting not only for its numerous references to Hegel, but also its lack of any reference to "Thesis - Antithesis - Synthesis", other than to say: Mao's notion of complementari...

Dialectical Evolutionary Biology

See: Zaid Orudzhev (Заи́д Ору́джев) (b. 1932) Sorry to quote from Wikipedia here, but I was just reading about Orudzhev's dialectical approach to Darwinian evolution and wanted to post it here as a reminder to look into this further: Orudzhev has been studying the emergence of man from the animal wo...
